Web Design

Here at Joyer, we have a set of web design guidelines that we adhere to and below is a list of some of the key elements.

Clear and Consistent Navigation

Make it easy for users to navigate around your website.  A well-structured and prominent menu is key to helping your visitors find what they are looking for. Keep your menu consistent in structure, position and style on all pages and ensure the menu text accurately describes what is on the page.

Don’t Clutter the Screen

Give the user space to read your website content by ensuring the site has ample white space. This increases legibility of your content while also improving the web design.

Quality Content

Well written and targeted content is critical on a website and this content should be enhanced with high quality imagery. The images should complement and re-enforce the content on the page.

Allow for Mobiles and Tablets

Ensuring your design supports mobiles and tablets is critical as more people consume their online content on these devices. Have a responsive website which allows the design to adapt and display content optimised for each type of device.

Include Key Call to Actions

Ensure the website’s key calls to actions are prominent and enticing. Directing users towards desired outcomes is a key web design consideration.

Consider SEO

On page website SEO is not just a developer’s responsibility. It is important when designing a website that core on page SEO components are allowed for to ensure your website will be indexed and ranked highly in search engines.
